Break Through The Roadblocks In Your Life

A client once said they feel like their dreams are right in front of them, but they keep coming across roadblocks in their life, stopping them from getting there.

Life can sometimes feel like that. No matter what you do, you keep reaching roadblocks that stop you in your tracks or keep you where you no longer want to be.

It doesn’t matter if it’s a business goal, personal development goal, health goal, financial goal or breaking the cycle of bad relationship choices. If you keep ending up back in the same place there is a roadblock you haven’t moved out of the way yet.

The good news is things can be different. You can get off the merry-go-round of endless diversions, and that’s what I want to share with you now.

What do the roadblocks in life mean?

Is the universe telling you something?

Obstacles in life can come in two forms.

Sometimes it can show up as little things, those frustrating situations when everything seems like a battle.

I had a great experience with this recently. I was trying to put up a blog from our website on another site to share it there, but nothing seemed to go right. The internet kept crashing, images wouldn’t load, and error signs popped up – I should have listened sooner and caused myself a lot less agro but I did eventually get the hint and stop.

In this example I noticed the roadblock and changed course to a better direction. But that situation was still a sign that something was out of alignment. 

If you ever get days like this when nothing you do seems to go smoothly and easily, it’s often an indication that something needs to change so do pay attention to the little things.

Other times the signs are more obvious.  As you work towards a goal or project you keep hitting one roadblock after another. No matter the option you take, you never make any progress and keep finding yourself back in the same situation.

For example:

  • You try every diet out there but nothing lasts, and the weight keeps coming back.
  • No matter how hard you try your business never seems to get beyond a certain profit line.
  • You keep finding yourself in the same types of relationships.
  • You leave one job you don’t like only to end up in a different one with the same situation.

These are more obvious signs that yes, the universe is trying to tell you something.

The key thing to take away is that no matter whether you find yourself facing lots of little stumbling blocks, or bigger and more obvious ostacles to achieving your goals, these are all signs that the universe is trying to tell you something. That some subconscious shift needs to happen to clear the path to success.

The real power behind roadblocks in life.

As painful and frustrating as they are, these repeated challenges and stumbling blocks in life can be a hidden gift.

The fact that you have noticed that you keep ending up in the same situations, making the same bad decisions, getting in your own way or never getting beyond a certain point towards your goal is to be celebrated.

YOU ARE AWARE. Awareness is the first step, but it can also be infuriating if no matter what you try and do about it, nothing changes.

That’s because your higher self is trying to let you know that you’re not in alignment.

We are driven by our beliefs.

Your brain literally filters your life and the information you take in from the outside world according to what matches your beliefs.

Your beliefs, held in your subconscious mind, define the rules it lives by to keep you safe and alive. But you took on those beliefs in your early years from the messages you picked up about the outside world whilst you were in the womb and then from the significant people, events and experiences you came across in childhood.

That’s where you determined what was safe and what was dangerous. What you needed to do to fit in with your surroundings and community. How you must behave, live and do to be accepted and stay alive.

Some things you may have learned beliefs about include:

  • Is it safe to be slim?
  • Is it appropriate to be rich or wealthy?
  • Is it safe to stand out from the crowd self-assured and self-confident?
  • Do you deserve love or to be loved?
  • Is a long-term relationship possible?
  • Do you need to stay quiet and small to stay alive?

I could go on but I think you get the idea.

Those beliefs, that messaging stays with you and determines the decisions you make, how you react and respond to things in life and what you notice in your world. They kept you alive and safe, but they may not be serving you now.

The roadblocks you keep coming across, the bad decisions you keep making, the self-sabotaging behaviour. All of that is driven by your subconscious ensuring you stay true to those beliefs and stay ‘safe’ – not happy, not successful, but alive.

So, they are a great gift because they highlight to you that some beliefs you have no longer serve you, no longer match what life is for you now and what you want to achieve.

But where do you go from here?

No matter what you may have heard about your subconscious and deep-seated beliefs, things can be changed.

If you change the beliefs and rules your subconscious is working with, a ripple effect occurs. Your brain filters the information you take in from the world around you differently. You notice things that passed you by before. You suddenly notice the different opportunities or choices available which may have always been there, you just didn’t see them before. How you react and respond to life changes and how you talk to yourself changes too.

There are various ways to find out what subconscious beliefs you have and work to change your mindset and programming. The process I have used to do this in my own life is PSYCH-K®.
